THE POSITION
Reporting to the General Manager of Japan Region, this executive role is responsible for the P&L of the Japan HST business, including representative director roles for two subsidiaries. This role provides direct management of the HST Japan commercial organization, including sales and marketing staff, while collaborating with support functions such as Operation, RA/QA, finance and HR.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and be accountable for all aspects of HST P&L management
- Integrate relevant data to support and develop analytical models to help make business critical decisions
- Develop Japan HST new product launch strategy in collaboration with local and global stakeholders
- Ensure alignment between marketing and sales on all strategies and tactics
- Develop marketing strategy for new and existing products/Brands including planning & resource allocation
- Provide country-level forecasts for demand planning & help address/ manage supply interruptions with customers
- Adapt customer value proposition for the needs of local market
- Identify, localize and execute demand generation programs, including campaigns
- Identify, establish and maintain local KOL relationships to support product growth & adoption
- Deliver key product training for internal & external stakeholders
- Organize and manage local congresses/meetings
- Identify and track market trends watching closely for competitive landscape changes
- Promote Baxter culture through positive ongoing customer and employee relations
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The IDEAL candidate will have the following profile;
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA preferred
- Successful experience in a matrix organization at a global company.
- Business management experience with P&L responsibility in the Japan Medical Device market
- Experience in business with hospitals and clinics (e.g. medical device/equipment) and knowledge of their budgeting processes
- Understanding of various tactical promotional aspects of a product/ brand and go-to-market strategies
- Has proven success in driving sales growth and managing sales teams – fully understands management of the sales cycle
- Knowledge of healthcare/pharmaceutical industry dynamics, business environments, regulatory & legal environment
- Expertise in CRM/database marketing would be a significant advantage
