Summary

Are you looking to take part in a Procurement transformation at the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of hospital supplies? We are looking for a result driven Procurement category leader with a passion for driving value, who wants to join our company mission to save and sustain lives. 

This position will be responsible for leading and supporting procurement excellence and driving best value for the categories under management, with key focus on cost, quality, and service. This role involves project management across several functions, business units and global sites and collaborating closely with business partners at the senior level to define priorities, establish strategic and tactical objectives, support the development of a multi-year category roadmap ensuring accurate alignment of requirements and supply base. Additionally, the leader in this role will continuously and proactively investigate new suppliers/technologies/etc. as inputs into our value funnel, supporting our organizational goals while helping to improve patient outcomes. 

What you'll be doing

  • Collaborating with internal partners and use these relationships to support the implementation of category strategies, pipeline items and short/medium/long-term goals to support the ongoing delivery of value pipeline.

  • Performing in depth spend analysis and market analysis on targeted areas of spend.

  • Supporting your supervisor in the development and execution of annual savings plans.

  • Developing RFI/RFPs and leading negotiations for key spend areas to achieve short-term and long-term savings targets.

  • Supporting and if required leading cross functional teams to successfully drive complex sourcing projects.

  • Registering the projects pipeline in the appropriate sourcing tools and providing regular reporting as to their status and expected benefits.

  • Leading and supporting the supplier selection, risk assessment and contract negotiation process for key projects as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Managing supplier performance through performance metrics and structured service level reviews; maintaining interface at operating levels of supplier’s organization; ensuring professional contract execution and adherence to contractual terms and conditions.

  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders (senior management and cross functional teams) to ensure the necessary buy-in for the sourcing projects.

  • Applying appropriate competitive cost and process benchmarks, financial analysis, and risk management techniques to solve complex issues.

  • Supporting in the implementation of the defined sourcing strategy and preferred suppliers.

  • Generating regular reports for the category lead concerning the categories of spend under your responsibility.

  • Driving effective Supplier Relationship Management with key suppliers and monitoring performance.

  • Stimulating and supporting innovation by using the supplier base, regularly reviewing market developments, and mobilizing the appropriate internal network.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering or related areas required.

  • Fluent English (writing and reading) is a must.

  • French and/or other languages would be a plus.

  • Minimum 5 years of category procurement experience with ability to work in a multi-cultural and matrix environment.

  • Proven experience in stakeholder and project management.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple parallel sourcing initiatives across different business groups.

  • Strong analytic and negotiation skills.

  • Business sense and ability to develop critical thinking.

  • Experience in contracting includes but not be limited to Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments and NDAs.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing priorities.

  • Understanding of Procurement standard processes, supply markets, suppliers and products.

  • Understanding of pricing models and contracts terms.
