Your role at Baxter

Procurement Manager responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies; maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply and services needs for the site and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities, manager must be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes, must have excellent leadership abilities, should be able to track trends of main site KPI’s and track internal metrics to manage standards/process that can accomplish goals stablished by corporate and site management.

The role of the manager also must be a mentor & coaching for the purchasing staff; to be key contributor to the development of the team

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain purchasing strategies, managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff and allocating tasks; keep follow up to internal metrics and ensure that these metrics be achieved into goal stablished.

  • Manage supplier relations , negotiating contracts, prices, timelines; Maintain the supplier database, purchase records and related documenation.

  • Coordinate with inventory control and purchasing teams to determine and manage inventory needs, keep healthy inventory levels to meet DIOH and Inventory turns into goal.

  • Ensure that all procured raw materials meet the required quality standards and specifications; Ensure that daily activities are executed based in procedures documented; Ensure that all the team is completing all training assigned in their purchasing profile.

  • Prepare cost estimates and managing budgets; mainly, Inventory projections & PPV Budgets.

  • Working to improve purchasing systems and processes; keep a culture of continue improvement; working with the team to identify opportunities in the process and active an action plan to improve it.

  • Keep updated the dashboard with internal metrics to follow up trends and audit performance of each buyer.

  • Supervise the activities to manage and control purchase of services and MRO’s required by the operation in the site.

  • Maintain good communication internally and externally, keeping effective channels and meetings with members of the team, other departments and external member of the organization, as well suppliers.

  • Participate in meetings and forums with managers staff to follow up performance of the plant; status of metrics, escalate critical issues and inform about potential risk in the supply process.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing or equivalent.

  • Five years or more of experience in supply chain process, manufacturing process; experience supervising teams focused in supply chain (Purchasing process), deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management; proficiency in purchasing software and systems (ERP/MRP).

  • Proficient use of Microsoft tools; good understanding of modern ERP/MRP platforms such as SAP.

  • Advance level of English.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; work with the vast array of information gathered during variety of processes and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information.
