The role of the Laboratory Technician is to support the chemical testing group during various stages of the manufacture of products at Thetford. You will be working as part of a team to ensure the required tasks are performed following established practices and within the required time frames. We would love to see applications from candidates who have finished A Levels and have an interest in a career in Science, Graduates or experienced Lab Technicians.

The working hours are Monday-Friday and there is flexibility to work 07:00-15:00/08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00. Please note this is an on site role based in Thetford.

Role Responsibilities

Perform sample preparation / testing using basic laboratory equipment
Participate in any laboratory investigations as required
Follow Good Laboratory Practice whilst undertaking work within the laboratory
Ensure their own working practices adhere to Health & Safety regulations
Help with the development of other team members by coaching and training
Support and encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the laboratory
Provide support for the Laboratory Manager in any reasonable request relating to the laboratory operation

Skills and Experience

A Level qualification or above
Analytical laboratory experience preferred but not essential
Impeccable attention to detail
Ability to work in a methodical and organised manner
Genuine interest in a career in Science
Ability to work to tight deadlines
