Your Role at Baxter

This position will be responsible for providing HR Generalist support and will be a trusted partner to our employees and managers, using their HR experience and coaching skills to assess, diagnose and deliver employee relations, engagement and communication programs and solutions. The position is responsible for both transactional and tactical HR support. The candidate will possess a high degree of motivation, ability to communicate, influence, and collaborate effectively with all levels of employees. The candidate must demonstrate willingness to be “hands-on”.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as a liaison between employees and management, handling employee relations issues, such as employee inquiries, and coordinating employee feedback.

  • Proactively communicate with employees and managers regarding HR policies and practices and key HR programs. Including responsibility for coordination of the LOA policy and process.

  • Works independently to resolve straightforward ER issues, as well as help resolve moderately complex ER issues.

  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials, coordinating new hire paperwork, and scheduling and conducting new hire orientations.

  • Assist with benefits administration, including annual and new hire enrollment and changes, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, working with the Benefits CoE as needed.

  • Undertake day-to-day and end-to-end payroll activities ensuring smooth running of payroll within the Workday timekeeping system. This includes working with supervisors and managers to track attendance and coordinate necessary disciplinary actions in accordance with policies.

  • Data management responsibilities include processing changes in Workday, audits of data, earnings uploads, and data correction workflows.

  • Uphold the Employee Engagement Committee within operations and assist the group in coordinating events.

  • Maintain measurement systems and analyze data to determine the impact of HR programs.

  • Makes recommendations to the HR Manager and plant leaders based upon analysis of trends.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • 3+ years of human resource professional experience working with managers and leaders in a medium to large organization.

  • HR experience within a manufacturing/plant environment is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of HR management components including performance management, development, compensation, culture and engagement, change management, organizational design, and inclusion & diversity.

  • Experience working with Leadership Team members, People Managers and employees working in a variety of locations (field, corporate, global).

  • Prior experience managing internal communication processes, and planning meetings, trainings, and employee events is a plus.

  • Ability to drive operational excellence, support multiple team members at all levels, and promote partnership and teamwork.

  • Effective communication, both written and oral.

  • Focused work approach and execution of responsibilities.

  • Ability to learn, adapt, prioritize, and succeed in a face-paced environment.

  • Strong technology application and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR Systems (e.g., Workday).

  • Working knowledge of the State of New York labor laws

  • This role will support a three-shift operation.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
