Therapy Specialist, Advanced Surgery

Location: Field-Based Languages: English - Business Unit: Advanced Surgery

About the Role

Baxter unites us through a shared mission to save and sustain lives. In your role as a Therapy Specialist for Advanced Surgery, you will offer healthcare professionals clinical education, product training, and therapy support within your assigned area.

Collaborating with Account Managers and various departments, you will help customers reach optimal patient outcomes by promoting Baxter's Advanced Surgery portfolio. This role suits a clinically trained professional who values relationship-building, shaping clinical practice, and impacting healthcare positively.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Education & Training

  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations, clinical education, and hands-on training to healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a trusted clinical expert, supporting customers with the implementation and adoption of Baxter therapies and products.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of clinical and product expertise within the Advanced Surgery portfolio!
  • Support the delivery of national and local educational programmes, workshops, and clinical events.

Customer Partnership & Territory Development

  • Partner with Account Managers to develop and complete territory business plans that drive growth and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Identify and improve opportunities within existing and new accounts through clinical value-based selling.
  • Build long-term relationships with key collaborators, including surgeons, nurses, theatre staff, and hospital decision-makers.
  • Support customers by providing responsive clinical mentorship and differentiated solutions that improve patient care.

Business & Commercial Support

  • Support all stages of the tender process, including pre-tender planning, submission activities, and post-award implementation.
  • Encourage portfolio expansion by identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities within Baxter's Advanced Surgery products.
  • Utilise CRM systems effectively to support business planning, opportunity management, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor market developments, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform business strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and other internal teams to ensure successful implementation of customer solutions.
  • Share market insights and established guidelines with colleagues to foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and contribute proactively to team and organisational objectives.

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Nurse or equivalent clinical qualification.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a clinical, healthcare, medical device, or related environment.
  • Experience working within or alongside hospital healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to build credibility and influence healthcare professionals.
  • Willingness to undertake frequent travel as part of a field-based role.
  • A heartfelt dedication to bettering patient outcomes and providing support to healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge in Advanced Surgery, Surgical Care, Operating Theatre, Wound Care, or related therapy fields.
  • Medical device or healthcare industry experience.
  • Training, education, or facilitation qualification
  • Commercial awareness or customer-facing experience.
  • Strong digital literacy and confidence using CRM systems and virtual training platforms.
