As a Field Service Representative, you will be integral to ensuring our products are ready for patient use. You will provide delivery, removal, and service support for products in service centers and customer accounts in a timely and professional manner. This role involves operating a fleet vehicle safely and maintaining direct customer contact. Cleaning, disinfecting, operational function checks, and minor repairs of products will be encouraged.

What you'll be doing

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to safety awareness and compliance, attending scheduled safety meetings.
  • Successfully complete all required safety and compliance learning modules on time.
  • Complete medical testing promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including 5S activities.
  • Safely operate a fleet vehicle ranging from a cargo van up to a 26,000-pound truck.
  • Adhere to all DOT Regulations: Pre-Post Trip Inspections, Hours of Service, etc.
  • Identify safety concerns and address them as necessary.
  • Lift and carry up to 65 pounds using accurate processes, including accurate safety and ergonomic procedures.
  • Load, unload, deliver, and remove wheeled medical products, weighing up to 1680 pounds, to and from customer accounts using appropriate processes and safety techniques.
  • Maneuver medical products within Baxter service centers, healthcare facilities, and unassisted using appropriate processes and safety techniques.
  • Secure medical products within truck beds using appropriate processes and safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and complete minor repairs to Baxter products, addressing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or cosmetic issues.
  • Complete routine cleaning & maintenance procedures on various Baxter products.
  • Perform pre-installation maintenance, including ‘preventive maintenance’ and ‘between patient inspection’ and modification procedures on various Baxter products, unassisted, including:
  • Provide on-call coverage, up to 24/7, including weekends and holidays, possibly requiring customer account visits.
  • Adapt to a constantly changing daily schedule of activities.
  • Navigate various electronic devices (PC, smartphone, tablet, etc.), the Internet, and other mobile network applications to acquire and enter information.
  • Complete data analysis and interpretation as required.
  • Complete written/electronic documents (records, reports, and forms) for internal, regulatory, and project documentation.
  • Read and understand technical bulletins pertaining to the repair and maintenance of Baxter products.
  • Supply required documentation at each customer site in real-time using established protocols.
  • Present information to customers and coworkers, including product demonstrations, participation in team meetings, sharing feedback of field activities, and cross-training of coworkers to complete both service center and field functions.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Previous mechanical/hands-on experience preferred
  • Previous driving/delivery experience preferred
  • Adaptability to new technologies and comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company standards and state requirements
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOT physical card required
  • Schedule flexibility/on-call availability
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Occasional overtime required
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, analyze, and apply technical information, including but not limited to technical manuals, technical bulletins, schematics, etc.
  • Basic mathematical skills related to calculating/analyzing weights and measures, volume, distance, etc.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to safety shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing. Gloves provided include both latex and non-latex materials.
  • Frequently works in environments where biohazards could be present, such as hospitals, service centers, and depots.
  • Must align with Baxter infection control and Environmental Health & Safety policies.
