As a Warehouse Specialist - Space Management, you are a leader who is willing to listen and inspire others by your actions. Your role as a Warehouse Specialist - Space Management positions you to be directly involved in the physical production that enables Baxter to fulfill our mission to save and sustain lives. You manage the line between meeting production timelines and making quality products. As a manager, you are the trusted critical connection between the business and the workers on the floor.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage planning of Inbound Customer Direct & international loads (using J.D. Edwards & Swisslog WMS)
  • Coordinate transport of products shipped internationally with ocean carriers & freight forwarders
  • Ensure customer and/or country specific requirements are met
  • Support plant production
  • Create work orders for inbound plant.
  • Track and review the status of current work orders.
  • Resolve any issues with off-site and/or on-site inbound shipments.
  • Create RR for rework orders. Manage rework process to ensure inventory is moved and available to the plant timely.
  • Create RS for sample orders. Manage sampling process to ensure inventory is moved and available to the plant timely.
  • Process discard product movements when notified by the plant. Verify with supervisor that handlers are available to work the DR before sending it to Inbound.
  • Post all receipts and maintain paperwork.
  • Schedule inbound finish goods deliveries. Review the paperwork for completeness and FDA release once the product has been received.
  • Support GLC overtime as needed.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies between the Plant and the GLC.
  • File paperwork as needed.
  • Maintain product movement data as needed.
  • Review production schedules to ensure system is pushing product for storage to the correct areas. Make adjustment to as needed.
  • Display effective communication and social skills to build and maintain positive relationships with the plant.
  • Review warehouse locations to assure the maximum and the most efficient utilization.
  • Monitor spacing issues
  • Monitor and control the case pick location and float zones utilization
  • Cycle count locations to help ensure receiving and picking accuracy.
  • Monitor case pick locations and float zones for proper storage and utilization.
  • Train Inbound Specialist as backups to maintain effectiveness when Space Management professionals are not available.
  • Train as a back-up for Inbound Specialists.
  • Cross-train in other logistics function(s) to be able to serve in back-up role(s)
  • Complete projects and other duties as assigned
  • Coordinate with appropriate teams to ensure requirements for new vendors and product are addressed. Ensure all requirements are complete prior to receiving new or manufactured products into the GLC.
  • Responsible for escalating exception situations and documenting issues associated with those situations.
  • Provide assistance with gathering supporting documentation for regulatory audits and other needs.

  • Strong PC computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)

Physical Requirements

  • Requires the ability stand/walk frequently throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 34 pounds.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $36,800.00 to $55,200.00. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position.
