Summary

The Asset Management Specialist  is accountable and responsible for the maintenance and day to day operations of the IT Asset Management process. The candidate will ensure information from across the IT ecosystem is properly recorded and maintained. 

The candidate, together with the CMDB team members and IT Service Owners, will support maintaining IT Asset Management for use in the end-to-end solution, program/project delivery, and ongoing service management operations.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this role responsibility includes processing PC  software requests, modification, addition and maintaining the Asset Management data, processes, and procedures: 

  • Procure, renew, optimize and budget software licenses. Responsible for managing and working through end user software request queues and procure licenses. Meet SLAs exceptions.
  • Drive cost savings and cost avoidance by re-purposing licenses and negotiating with suppliers while partnering with Enterprise Architecture, Purchasing Supplier Management, Desktop Support, and Endpoint Management teams.
  • Manage and drive annual license true ups with various vendors. Reporting  for monthly/quarterly/ Annual software License usage and assessment
  • Manage and govern software suppliers
  • Support internal and external software license audits.
  • Maintain and build a coherent and accurate Asset management database. 
  • Maintain asset management data integrity by working to eliminate redundancy, enforce standardized products and naming conventions.
  • Ensure software asset management policies are followed.
  • Support Data Security and Enterprise Data governance measures/policies where needed.
  • On a day-to-day basis implement changes to asset management as well as support assurance on quality of asset management content.
  • Actively participate in the Continual Service Improvement (CSI) for Asset Management.
  • Research technologies that can improve our asset management processes.
  • Have an understanding of IT Service Management processes and can interpret the requirements and requests raised by Service Owners that then get incorporated into the asset management processes.
  • Understanding of asset management concepts and how Database Management Systems DBMS operates and the ability to manipulate and create data within. 
  • Familiarity with complex IT environments with factual and theoretical knowledge to identify and retrieve information.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Finance or related field required. 
  • Overall experience required: 3-6 years CMDB and Asset Management. 
  • Experience with Asset Management within ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and proficient in Excel
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work with strong fundamentals in data analytics and advance knowledge of spreadsheets or data manipulation methods. ​
  • Passionate about continuous learning and keeping up with the latest technologies. 
  • Must be willing to work on a distributed team and global timings. 
  • Self-directed individual capable of working with minimal supervision. 
  • Dedicated to learning, taking initiative, and welcome feedback. 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. 

Nice to Have

  • ITIL V3 foundation certification. 
  • ITAM Certification
  • CSAM certification
  • Database Administration Certification.
  • Experience with asset and endpoint mgmt software such as ServiceNow HAM, SAM, and Microsoft SCCM
  • Knowledge of IT tools such as Tableau, Power BI. 
  • Familiarity with cloud computing/edge clouds.
