This is a field position responsible for defining and managing the overall strategic direction and focus of the sales team and other resources assigned to the sales area as determined by area management. Responsible for defining and meeting customer requirements within the assigned area, and for developing and evaluating strategies to drive the team towards reaching divisional objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for direct management of assigned area personnel and other resources assigned to the sales area.

  • Develop and implement the sales strategy of SADC markets.

  • Manage the activities in assigned areas to achieve divisional financial objectives. Define, evaluate and meet customer requirements.

  • Accountable for top Line and bottom-line results.

  • Participate in the hiring, development of employees, coaching and feedback, assessing the effectiveness of the staff, and determining appropriate staff and resources to support the long- and short-term goals of the assigned area.

  • Review customer contracts and regional activities within area to meet margin requirements.

  • Supply senior management with area annual sales and expense budgets, as well as longer term strategic planning targets.

  • Identify new market opportunities and expansion strategy.

  • Align sales goals with overall Business Goals.

  • Provide input into development and adjustment to sales organizational structure.

  • Responsible for providing a rolled-up forecast with input from the regions in their area.

  • Comply with and ensure adherence to the controlled documentation system, record retention, policies, procedures and processes for department to set and meet service levels required by customers in accordance with Corporate/Divisional guidelines, FDA and ISO 9001.

  • Provide input from the customer’s perspective to all other business functions as required.

  • Participate in development and management of sales incentives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Results oriented with strong customer focus.

  • Strong knowledge of divisional customer base.

  • Strong leadership, management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to exhibit analytical, strategic and creative thinking, as well as planning and developing people.

  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong knowledge of Sales processes.

  • Strong business acumen, financial and negotiation skills.

  • Possess an in-depth working knowledge of Transfusion medicine and products.

  • Embraces and promotes change.

  • Ability to create strategy and translate into operational plans.

  • Proven broad based thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Medical Sciences, or related field. MBA preferred.

  • Experience: 15+ years in sales, with significant experience in healthcare or pharmaceuticals, including leadership roles.
