Your role at Baxter:

Accountable for the day-to-day operation in the warehouse, Interplant, and miscellaneous shipments. Responsible for management of finished goods and intermediates (WIP). Provides quality and cost-effective support to our organization. Work with the planning and purchasing team to look for inventory optimization opportunities.

This position provides guidance and direction for warehouses, material handlers, and shipping specialists.

Cleveland’s technology and automation is innovative. It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices. This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for warehousing and shipping activities to ensure efficient and uninterrupted flow of materials and finished products, their receipt, internal movement, proper storage, issuance, and shipment.

  • Collaborate with various plant management on operating issues relative to shipping, warehouse, and inventory control that impact plant operations.

  • Works with order management, sales & marketing, product managers, manufacturing, suppliers, distribution centers, and third-party logistics providers in support of business objectives

  • Oversees service levels, in conjunction with inventory goals, through distribution requirement planning and deployments

  • Manage transportation provider relationships.

  • Review and process claims against carriers for material damaged in transit.

  • Provides inspection of incoming materials against order and specifications.

  • Plan and coordinate the efficient transfer of materials and finished products to and from production and warehouse areas.

  • Oversee pallet inventory for the plant.

  • Oversee product flow to and from contract sterilizer, including managing related communication with sterilizer.

  • Drive engagement in the team by modeling our leader behaviors.

  • Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

  • Responsible for maintaining proper inventory control procedures and documentation for all finished products produced, stored, and shipped from the plant.

  • Serve as primary plant liaison with Replenishment Center.

  • Directs the planning and assignment of work for the most efficient use of personnel and equipment to optimize material flow and plant production performance.


What you'll bring

  • BS in Operations/Logistics or similar degree;

  • Minimum Associates with 5+ years or more related experience.

  • Three to five years of supervisory or management experience in supply chain management, distribution, warehouse/receiving.

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills including broad cross-functional project management and ability to promote strong teamwork between departments.

  • Complete, in-depth understanding of all aspects of the business including profitability, inventory turns, and service levels Strong communication skills (with staff, peers, and upper management) and ability to develop rapport with other functional leaders inside Baxter and Supply base.

  • Able to do an analysis of tradeoffs between business objectives and to think systemically.

  • Strong change management skills include embracing change, challenging the status quo, and recommending improvements to products and processes. Able to drive results through team leadership and culture transformation.

  • Able to create tools that help simplify job tasks and share with others.

  • Able to communicate across multiple levels of the organization with strong communication and presentation skills that, can influence the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.

  • Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and negotiation.

  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $76,000 - $104,500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
