Your Role at Baxter

The Production Technician II is a salaried Non-Exempt position which contributes to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by providing operational and maintenance related support to an assigned manufacturing area.

Your Team

Cleveland’s technology and automation is innovative. It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices. This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working Saturday and Sunday 12 hours / Third day TBD 8 hours (32 hours)
  • Responsible for following and implementing GMPs, safety rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate machine set-up activities to productions schedules.
  • Maintain contact with upstream and downstream equipment and personnel to ensure awareness of any product or process problems.
  • Conduct periodic audit for inventories used for the department.
  • Document process abnormalities and take corrective actions. Immediately report abnormalities and corrective action to supervision.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems. Make required adjustments and minor equipment repairs, as needed.
  • Maintain production records and document raw materials used in production.
  • Perform department responsibilities such as changeovers, line clearances, material movement, and TIQ (total integrated quality) checks.
  • Use blueprints, specifications, bill of materials and standard operating procedures, to ensure product process acceptability.
  • Perform department safety audits and housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Must have knowledge of both plant and department environmental health and safety regulations and follow said regulations accordingly.
  • Participate and lead process activities in validation projects for equipment.
  • Communicate optimally with department employee’s management, engineering and maintenance.
  • Must have ability to review batch documentation for correctness and completion.
  • Perform relief duties for other personnel when required.
  • Perform material movement and assist with inventory management as needed.
  • Attend training programs as required. Participate and assist in the training of new personnel.
  • Must perform all other duties and responsibilities as determined by supervision/management.
  • Complete communication pass down sheets from shift to shift.
  • Conduct GMP Audits to ensure Department is audit ready at all times.
  • Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Advise the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.

What you'll bring

  • High School Diploma required.
  • A minimum of 2 years manufacturing or quality experience is desired.
  • Additional technical experience, training and education are a plus.
  • Demonstrate effective communication abilities, both orally and in writing.
  • Possess some computer skills such as microsoft office.
  • Willing to work a flexible work schedule and overtime as required.
  • Able to function in a team environment and work well in a group.
  • Able to read, understand and follow GMPs, SOPs, Specs, BOMs and all guidelines as they relate to the process.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tag-out safety procedures.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, bend/stoop.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Audiometric testing and hearing protection required.
  • Meet visual acuity requirements as documented in Baxter Cleveland visual acuity procedure CL-01-01-037.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $36,800 - $46,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than that of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
