The assistant supervisor position assists in implementing and supervising daily activities in the production area to ensure manufacturing goals and project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and any other regulations that could apply. May monitor and control labor

Cleveland’s technology and automation is innovative. It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices. This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist supervisor providing guidance, support, direction and leadership through positive interactions with all personnel during daily operations.
  • Assist in supervising the day-to-day production, scheduling, staffing, material management, compliance, training and auditing activities – to meet customer requirements including deadlines and quality standards.
  • The assistant supervisor will have responsibilities for multiple areas as directed by the supervisor.
  • Review, approve, and manage documentation for batch and system records.
  • Assist in release of product for distribution.
  • Assist in meeting product release time goals.
  • Emphasize training programs designed to enable staff to consistently implement all manufacturing processes with strict compliance to cGMPs and EHS regulations.
  • Assist with the implementation of performance measurement and internal auditing programs in order to routinely evaluate operation efficiency and quality.
  • Provide performance feedback to employees on a quarterly basis at a minimum.
  • Ensure all daily production and scrap are entered every day.
  • Implement changes as needed based on assessments.
  • Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the Baxter Shared Values: Respect /Responsiveness / Results.
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor Degree or Technical Degree is preferred.
  • 0-3 years Manufacturing or Quality Experience in a leadership role is preferred.
  • Additional technical experience, training, and education is a plus.
  • Possess proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office.
  • Willing to work a flexible work schedule and overtime as required.
  • Have strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow GMPs, SOPs, Specs, BOMs, and all guidelines as they relate to the process.
  • Must have interpersonal and communication skills for routine interaction with plant management and other plant personnel (internal and external).
  • Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Meet visual acuity requirements as documented in Baxter Cleveland Visual Acuity Procedure
  • CL-01-01-037.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to bend/stoop.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 75 pounds
  • Audiometric testing and hearing protection required.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $52,000 - $58,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
