The Senior Principal Engineer in Braine L'Alleud will demonstrate leadership in multifunctional project efforts, serving as a Product Technical Lead. This role involves directly supporting product development projects and programs by understanding and applying underlying engineering principles and scientific theory. The engineer will handle sub-projects independently within a multifunctional project team, acting as an expert in design, process, and product risk assessment.

What you'll do :

The Senior Principal Engineer will organize and supervise all activities related to assigned products, including collecting inputs, defining technical requirements, functional performance, risk management, and specifications. This role involves designing engineering studies, interpreting results in terms of process and product scale-up, manufacturability, cost-of-goods, operating parameters, and specifications, as well as compiling reports and analyses in written and graphic form. The engineer will ensure project execution aligns with Baxter Product Development Processes and participate in global multifunctional project teams to evaluate, select, and adapt various engineering and research techniques. Maintaining a high degree of engineering knowledge, the engineer will conduct literature searches, investigate technical information, and present findings to relevant staff. Additionally, the role involves finding opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements, handling project assignments, and interacting directly with customers, business and marketing staff, manufacturing groups, senior management, and leaders. The engineer will also run trackwise change control/tasks for R&D activities.

What you'll bring :

  • Master or equivalent experience in Engineering (in Mechanics, Materials, Physics or Chemistry), with 10 years in Product Development
  • PhD or equivalent experience in Engineering (in Mechanics, Materials, Physics or Chemistry), with 4 years in Product Development
  • Expertise in Medical Product Development
  • Sub-project management
  • Excellent spoken, written and read English
  • Statistical (Minitab & Six Sigma tools) and Project Management tools (MS Project)
  • Autonomy, organized, sense of responsibility, clear communicator, quality oriented
  • Plastic materials technology and processing
  • Good knowledge in IV and Irrigation Therapy
