We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead System Designer to join our team at Baxter Healthcare, working on cutting-edge digital products in the category of Software as Medical Devices (SaMD). The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and implement innovative solutions that are safe, effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

1.    Lead the design and development of digital products as medical devices (SaMD) and/or non medical software, from initial concept to final implementation, ensuring adherence to design standards, user needs, and regulatory requirements.
2.    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to create system architecture, user interface designs, and technical specifications.
3.    Conduct research on emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
4.    Contribute to the development of design guidelines, patterns, and standards to maintain consistency across digital products.
5.    Ensure that design decisions are informed by user research, usability testing, and feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
6.    Review and provide feedback on the work of junior designers, mentoring and coaching them to improve their skills and contribute to project success.
7.    Collaborate with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure that designs are compliant with applicable regulations and standards, such as FDA, IEC, and ISO.
8.    Stay updated on changes to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices to ensure that designs remain compliant and up-to-date.

Qualifications:

1.    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2.    Minimum of 8 years of experience in system design, with a focus on digital products as medical devices (SaMD) or non-medical Software.
3.    Proven track record of leading successful system design projects from concept to implementation.
4.    Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, human-computer interaction, and accessibility.
5.    Expertise in user interface design, user experience design, and interaction design.
6.    Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
7.    Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
9.    Strong Experience in quality management systems covering regulatory requirements for software as medical devices, such as FDA, IEC, and ISO.
10.    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate design ideas, concepts, and decisions.
11.    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
12.    Passion for creating innovative, user-friendly, and safe digital products that make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
