Your role at Baxter:

The Senior Technician, Molding Shop is responsible for providing specialized technical support to molding and extrusion production lines and equipment, ensuring optimal operational performance, efficiency, and compliance with quality and safety standards. This role includes performing equipment adjustments, product changeovers, and executing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities, contributing to operational continuity and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide technical support to assigned production lines and equipment, including product or catalog changeovers.
  • Support other engineering areas as required.
  • Ensure optimal equipment performance through timely interventions.
  • Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs for assigned equipment.
  • Use the Maintenance Management System (Máximo) to document and track activities.
  • Maintain accurate records (logs) of all interventions performed.
  • Comply with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory documentation requirements and support validation activities.
  • Support the implementation of GMP, SPC, and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Apply Lean tools (6S, visual management, etc.) to improve processes.
  • • Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives.
  • Identify and implement technical improvements in processes and equipment.
  • Manage work orders and ensure closure within established timelines.
  • Actively participate in area meetings.
  • Collaborate, execute, and/or lead electromechanical and equipment improvement projects.
  • Participate in manufacturing equipment validation.
  •  Comply with all company and regulatory Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements
  • Apply ergonomic principles to minimize job discomfort and reduce the risk of injury.

What you’ll bring:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Technical degree in plastics, mechanics, electronics, or related field.
  • Ongoing university studies (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a molding technician or similar role.
  • Experience in plastic processing and manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, electricity, and electronics.
  • Experience with molding and extrusion machinery.
  • Proficiency in computer tools (spreadsheets, databases). 
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Attention to detail and decision-making ability.
  • Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.
  • English (technical): Preferred
