Your Role at Baxter

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate II to join our pharmaceutical product development team. The successful candidate will contribute solid technical knowledge to a variety of projects, demonstrating a basic technical understanding of related disciplines such as chemistry, formulations, and pharmaceutics.

The ideal candidate will be adept at developing, optimizing, and validating instrumental methods for characterizing pharmaceutical formulations. They will conduct routine and non-routine research, design experiments, and work with minimal assistance.

What you'll be doing

  • Without assistance, make sound technical recommendations regarding projects/matters that are more routine than not.
  • Provide some analysis/redesign of key experimental procedures. Independently select techniques and procedures to solve problems within pharmaceutical development programs (i.e. formulation/analytical).
  • Employ appropriate techniques/methods to successfully and independently execute routine assignments within negotiated deadlines. Identify existing alternative methods and technologies for improving existing or new products/processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant QSR and safety requirements while building knowledge of other regulatory requirements related to R&D (product development, design and safety) to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities.
  • Recommend appropriate designs, techniques and processes for a specified sequence of tasks where needed.
  • Contribute to technical feasibility analysis of complex research and design concepts.
  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of GxP and related regulations and guidance.
  • Demonstrate ability to apply technical theories and principles to projects within area of expertise for non-routine tasks. Analyze and determine best solutions to non-routine experimental design or research problems with minimal assistance. Accurately assess results for validity and conformance to specifications.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, or related subject area).
  • 2+ years of experience in developing, optimizing, and validating instrumental methods for characterization of pharmaceutical formulations.
  • Possess relevant laboratory/technical (HPLC/UPLC, GC, UV-Vis, pH, color, osmolality, etc.), writing, and computer skills.
  • Effectively able to contribute on a project team.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and can shift gears comfortably.
  • Ability to objectively assess, organize, and clearly communicate complex information.
  • Interpret available information and make recommendations to resolve technical challenges.
  • Appropriately prioritize assignments to meet project schedules.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
