National Sales Manager – Strategic Initiatives

The National Sales Manager – Strategic Initiatives is pivotal in driving sales operations for our strategic growth initiatives within the Healthcare Systems and Technologies business unit. This role focuses on developing and implementing effective sales strategies, managing specialist sales teams, and ensuring the achievement of sales goals across all territories.

Key Responsibilities

· Operational and Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership for the Total Bed Management commercial team by developing and executing sales strategies, guiding the sales team, and fostering relationships with key customers.

· Omni-Channel Sales Management: Lead the Omni-Channel Sales teams by collaborating with National Sales Managers and Product Managers to develop and implement sales strategies for Remote Account Managers across the HST portfolio. Support and develop the sales team to enhance performance.

· Overhead Specialist Sales Team Leadership: Manage the Overhead Specialist Sales Team, driving sales and development of Safe Patient Handling solutions in the acute care sector.

· Develop and lead new strategic growth commercial initiatives.

· Team Development: Lead and nurture a diverse team of sales specialists, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations to enhance team effectiveness.

· Sales Target Achievement: Set and monitor sales targets for various regions, ensuring all teams are aligned and on track to meet or exceed these goals.

· Performance Monitoring: Regularly review sales performance metrics and reports, utilizing data-driven insights to enhance sales effectiveness.

· Training and Development: Recruit, train, and develop sales personnel, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.

· Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Marketing, National Sales Managers, and customer service teams to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and customer satisfaction.

· Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, promptly addressing any issues or concerns.

Required Skills and Experience

· Expertise in the UK Total Bed Management Market: Comprehensive knowledge of the UK Total Bed Management market, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities. Proven experience in developing and implementing strategies that enhance bed management efficiency and patient flow.

· Leadership and People Management Skills: Exceptional leadership capabilities with a proven track record in effectively managing and developing teams. Experience in fostering a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

· Collaborative Cross-Functional Working: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across various departments, including operations, finance, and clinical teams. Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives that drive organizational goals and improve service delivery.

· High Drive and Responsibility: A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining focus on strategic objectives.

· Commercial Execution Responsibility: Proven experience in overseeing commercial execution, including budget management, resource allocation, and performance monitoring. Ability to analyze market data and financial reports to inform decision-making and drive profitability.

· Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience in presenting complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.

· Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes effectively. Experience in leveraging data-driven insights for strategic planning and operational improvements.

· Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and navigate challenges with resilience. A flexible approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of bed management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Medical Sales, with a proven track record in sales and managing/growing large, strategic accounts
  • Experience within the UK bed and surfaces market – deep market insight Highly beneficial
  • Strong communication and change management skills, based on transparent and inclusive values.
  • Track record of leading transformation and growth
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and flexibility to quickly adapt to change. Passionate about building new business opportunities.
  • Strong planning skills with a structured work pattern.
  • Result driven, accountable and a growth mindset.
  • Resilience and positivity; responds well to setbacks and shows leadership by proactively encouraging and motivating peers.

  • English fluent.
  • Ability to travel needed (50%)
