To assure a continuous production in the sterilization area. Loading and unloading sterilization vessels on time to avoid downtime in manufacturing areas.  Repairs and maintains sterilizers and mechanical equipment in the sterilization area. Perform all duties with strict observance to Safety Regulations, cGMP's, cSOPs, cGDP's and other internal and external regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fill out all documentation at sterilized vessels.
  • Fill out all the reports.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to the sterilizers.
  • Able to work at any shift.
  • Handle multiple tasks.
  • Maintain a clean environment.
  • Team worked oriented.
  • Takes the samples of the process.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Repairs electrical equipment.
  • Perform calibrations to instruments and trouble shoots control panel area.
  • Able to work within minimum supervision.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Sterilization Cycles Continuous Monitoring.
  • Load, unloads and product movement on sterilization trucks.
  • Maintain Baxter’s commitment to high standards for compliance, enthusiasm and business integrity.
  • Able to work with many projects and handle multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Able to work Holidays, extra hours, or any shift when required (e.g. Shutdowns, external audits-FDA, ISO 9002, Corporate-, special projects).
  • Must keep the work area clean and in order conditions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree in Electronics or Instrumentation with one (1) year of related experience in the steam sterilization area.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and/or immediate supervisor of the organization.  Ability to read and comprehend English as a second language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and specifications (SOP's).  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

cGMP's Training, JIB's Trainings, Forklift license, and other exams, certificates or licenses that the immediate supervisor refers.

COMPANY REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Observes and promotes company security, industrial hygiene, cGMPs, FDA, EHSS regulations, procedures and other security measures already established by the company; should inform any violation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crawl.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (with the appropriate safety equipment).  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock;  and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

EQUIPMENT and/or SAFETY EQUIPMENT

The employee is required to use the appropriate Safety Equipment that Baxter requires to comply with all Safety and Security rules (in Regulated Areas), such as: safety glasses, safety shoes, uniform, special safety suit, gloves, etc. The incumbent must be use industrial and non-industrial computerized equipment; manufacturing  equipment; telephone; office supply; computer; control panels; Heise; Dead Weight Tester; RTD; Voltage Standard; small precision tools; soldering equipment.
