What you'll be doing
Responsible to ensure new equipment and process systems along with installation and maintenance procedures and practices follow corporate and site standards, specifications, Federal, Puerto Rican, and local regulations.
Lead the Process Maintenance Team.
Supervise Process Maintenance employees.
Define vital skills for maintenance resources and lead a process to insure skills development to appropriate levels.
Hire and maintain the appropriate number and skill mix of technicians to support manufacturing.
Contract contingent workers as vital to support manufacturing and engineering goals.
Organize maintenance technician and supervisory resources to improve productivity across all shifts.
Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work.
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
Develop maintenance schedules and make sure them among Process Maintenance staff.
Assure compliance to Environmental, Health, and Safety standards. Implement workplace policies and standards and insure they are sustained.
Promptly report environmental, heath, and safety incidents to the EHS Manager.
Ensure that process equipment and areas are kept in clean and hygienic condition.
Assure compliance to cGMP and Quality System standards. Carry out inspections of the processing areas and equipment to identify and resolve issues to insure equipment and work process compliance is sustained.
Track equipment downtime. Identify areas for improvement. Lead improvement work.
Available for call-in to respond to emergency calls for maintenance.
Perform troubleshooting to solve repair issues.
Prepare annual expense budget. Monitor expenses and control to the maintenance and department budgets.
Maintain maintenance records and report on daily activities.
Handle assigned capital projects to deliver scope of work on schedule and in budget following corporate and site standard work processes.
Represent the site on corporate teams and initiatives as assigned.
Is an effective leader and mentor fostering trust, partnership, and collaboration within the Process Maintenance Group and across other site functions.
Works efficiently with all levels, functions, and departments within the corporate and site organization.
Communication, both written and oral, is clear, concise, and accurate
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Engineering. Experience in maintenance, design, and project engineering in medical devices or pharmaceutical industries. Knowledge of AutoCAD, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), Six Sigma, personal and industrial computers, electromechanical machinery, analog and digital machine control systems. Require hands-on experience on programmable logic controllers, robots, and other highly technical equipment. Applies and has full use of standard engineering and management principles, concepts and techniques. Knowledgeable in scientific and technical procedures, which are used in the experimentation and evaluation of new equipment. Maintains understanding of industry and technology trends relevant to process equipment design and maintenance. Proven knowledge of Flexible Automation Principles, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of EPA, EQB, and OSHA regulations.
Eight (8) years minimum experience in an industrial environment preferably cGMP
Five (5) years minimum experience supervising production machinery maintenance
