Your role at Baxter:

As a Tech, Electrical at Baxter Healthcare Corporation in Guayama, you will play a vital role in ensuring the detailed operation of our plant's electrical systems. This opportunity allows you to work with brand-new technology and contribute to life-saving healthcare solutions. You will be responsible for completing work orders, maintaining electrical equipment, and ensuring all systems are safe and aligned with Baxter standards and cGMP.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist in developing programs for new equipment and major repairs.
  • Maintain electrical equipment, including high voltage systems.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications to ensure installations and operations conform to standards.
  • Support the definition of critical assets based on consequence and risk to the business, determining asset criticality in areas such as Safety, Environmental, Capacity, Cost, and Production/Process quality.
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting or repair activities caused by electrical failure of operational equipment and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modification or expansion, and direct contracted personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties as necessary.
  • Complete regular electrical testing and suggest or initiate changes or updates to equipment based on test results to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • Align with the use of required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform LOTO (Lock out tag out) safety procedures.
  • Follow the electrical program established in the plant.
  • Capable of reading, understanding, and following NEC (National Electric Code).

What you'll bring:

  • Education: Associate Degree , Technical Degree
  • Profession License or Certification Required: Electrician License
  • Professional Experience: Three (3) or more years of relevant electrical experience.
  • - Language: Fully Bilingual - written and spoken English & Spanish
  • Regulations: Comprehensive knowledge of cGMP, FDA and EHS regulations. Strong OSHA & EHSS knowledge.
  • Technical Qualifications: Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to operate electronic equipment. Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Capable of interpreting and applying maintenance, repair, inspection, and compliance codes or standards. Ability to understand technical drawings. Solid understanding of Power Distribution Systems. Robust electrical work experience. Decision Making & Technical Learning skills are crucial.

Desirable:

  • Power Systems (4160V, 480/208V).
  • Electrical Motors experience.
  • PVC Coated Piping.
  • Arc Flash knowledge.
  • Basic Controls and Automation Knowledge.
  • Refrigeration systems knowledge and experience.
