Job Responsibilities

As an Accountant at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial operations are completed flawlessly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist and support the accounting operations in BBS KL.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including trial balance review and profit and loss review in collaboration with the FP&A team.
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations and monitor BBS KL follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with the BBS KL tax team to prepare for statutory audits and communicate with auditors for both US GAAP and local statutory audits.
  • Support tax compliance processes (corporate tax and VAT) with assistance from the BBS KL team.
  • Coordinate tax audits and lead all aspects of project management of these audits with support from BBS KL.
  • Provide necessary documentation for both direct and indirect tax litigation.
  • Support the improvement of financial processes and controls while ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with collaborators from different countries and various global partners, including BBS KL.
  • Support and contribute to local, regional, and global projects as required.
  • Focus on identifying and implementing continuous process improvement opportunities, including the use of advanced technologies.
  • Assist with company secretarial tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Treasury team on inter-company loan arrangements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team’s success.

Job Requirements

To successfully compete for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of proven accounting experience, preferably within a multinational corporation.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and local statutory accounting principles.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with a focus on continuous improvement and embracing new technologies.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
