Summary

As a Senior Program Manager - R&D Medication Delivery at Baxter, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the future of medical delivery systems. Reporting to the Director of Program Management R&D, you will coordinate a diverse portfolio of product development, sustaining, and improvement projects within the Medication Delivery Global Business. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead world-class teams in a high-impact role that directly contributes to our mission of advancing the healthcare industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide business and technical leadership for a major, high-complexity program within the Medication Delivery (MD) Business, a core growth area with over $2B in annual sales.

  • Lead cross-functional scientific and technical teams through all phases of project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for the life cycle management of key products.

  • Manage collaborator expectations and successfully implement results within the MD business, ensuring flawless execution and adherence to timelines.

  • Lead teams in resolving complex problems by developing technical solutions, project plans, resourcing plans, and budgets.

  • Develop core team and project management capabilities across the organization, encouraging a culture of collaboration and excellence.

  • Influence and communicate effectively with senior leaders, both within and outside the business unit.

  • Apply standard methodology in Project Management, including PMBOK principles, to ensure projects meet performance metrics and regulatory guidelines.

  • Establish, track, and communicate project risks, ensuring timely mitigation and resolution.

  • Manage all financial aspects of assigned projects, including capital expenditures, functional expenses, and program positioning.

  • Collaborate with marketing, legal, and purchasing teams to develop and negotiate contracts that align with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field, with 7 years of project management experience. Desired: Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

  • Minimum: 10 years of product life cycle experience with a proven track record of leading multi-site, global, or enterprise-wide programs in the medical products industry.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred.

  • Self-motivated, capable of analyzing complex problems and driving high-performing teams to success.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Product Development Process requirements.

  • Strong leadership and financial competence, with the ability to effectively manage budgets and project financials.

  • Proficient with scheduling software and project management tools.

  • Proven product development experience, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality products to market.
