Your Role at Baxter:

Baxter’s Respiratory Health business unit products expand therapies to better help patients and

physicians to manage chronic or acute respiratory and cardiac diseases (COPD, CHF, etc.).  The earlier the treatment for these patients – the better the quality of life.  The $150M business portfolio includes products for airway clearance and ventilation.  

The role of Project Leader is to lead and manage a Cross-Functional project team for the timely execution of planned project activities and deliverables. Projects often involve integrating new features/ technologies into existing products.

This position is based out of Bangalore and reporting to the R&D Director for Respiratory Health division of Front Line Care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute projects in compliance with the applicable Project Management Policy, NPD Procedures and Quality Systems.
  • Manages and communicates with the project sponsor and stakeholders at all levels and provide senior leadership with status updates in a timely manner.
  • Provides timely spending and budget updates.
  • Lead the project team in risk identification and mitigation activities.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Manage vendor partners.
  • Provide feedback to functional leaders regarding performance that is fully considered in their year-end performance reviews and compensation recommendations.
  • Resolve personal/team conflicts and project/functional conflicts.
  • Organize and conduct team building activities for the project team.
  • Ensure that resources that are required for the project are properly allocated and available.
  • Understand product acceptability by intended customers; spends time with customers/end-users and constantly invests in understanding customer environment.
  • Participate in project feasibility studies.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Core Team members and provide significant feedback to functional leaders regarding training needs.
  • Ensure that project team members apply good engineering practices during the project execution.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to the project team.
  • Participate and contribute to product road-mapping and strategy activities.
  • Mentor a new Project Manager.

Your Team:

You will be reporting to R&D Director for Respiratory Health. This position does not have any direct reports. You will need to work collaboratively with R&D and cross functions.  

Your Location:

The role is located in the BRD facility in Bangalore India. 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Bio-Medical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 8 -10  years of experience in program management, preferably electro-mechanical medical devices..
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Program Management or related field, preferably in the pharmaceutical and medical products industry.
  • Successful execution of Electromechanical systems/products/parts/processes involving product conceptualization to commercial release.
  • Familiarity with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards
  • Demonstrated experience working with vendors with different models of engagement.
  • Good oral and written communication skills. 
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Coordinate and conduct team meetings effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to support and solicit input from team members and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project software.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Strong individual contributor who can work effectively in a team and be comfortable with change.
  • PMI Certification or Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
  • Capacity to handle fast paced and high stressed situations.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in accomplishing objectives. Able to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills
