Summary

Are you looking to take part in a Procurement transformation at the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of hospital supplies? We are searching for a result driven Procurement Buyer with a passion for driving value, who wants to join our company mission to save and sustain lives.

Person in this role will help support Manufacturing Plants and Commercial Offices in EMEA regions, focusing on ISC Indirect Procurement categories like MRO, Facilities Maintenance, and Utilities. The incumbent will report to the EMEA Senior Manager (Mfg. Operations) within Baxter’s Indirect Procurement team.

This position will be responsible for supporting procurement excellence and driving the best value for the categories under management, with key focus on cost, quality, and service. This role involves project management across several functions, business units and global sites and collaborating closely with business partners.

What you'll be doing

  • Working with internal partners to improve the execution of category strategies and achieve short/medium/long-term goals.

  • Performing in depth spend analysis and market analysis on targeted areas of spend.

  • Supporting your supervisor in the development and execution of annual savings plans.

  • Developing RFI/RFPs and leading negotiations for key spend areas to achieve short-term and long-term savings targets.

  • Supporting the supplier selection and contract negotiation process for key projects you are assigned to.

  • Giving frequent progress reports on designated categories to the Senior Management and to key internal collaborators.

  • Working with cross functional teams to drive various types of sourcing projects that span from easy to complex.

  • Registering the projects pipeline in the appropriate sourcing tools and providing regular reporting as to their status and expected benefits.

  • Supporting in the implementation of the defined sourcing strategy and preferred suppliers.

  • Generating regular reports for the category lead concerning the categories of spend under your responsibility.

  • Driving effective Supplier Relationship Management with key suppliers and monitoring performance.

  • Stimulating and supporting innovation by using the supplier base, regularly reviewing market developments, and mobilizing the appropriate internal network.

Expected education and experience

  • University degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Engineering or Business.

  • Minimum 3 years of category procurement experience or other business experience (experience in multinational organizations will be a plus).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven experience in working with others and engaging interested parties.

  • Business insight and the capacity to cultivate critical thinking.

  • Ability to work efficiently with virtual teams in a multi-cultural and matrix environment.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple parallel sourcing initiatives across different business groups.

  • Strong analytic and negotiation skills with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing priorities.

  • Experience in contracting includes but not be limited to Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments and NDAs (preferred).

  • Understanding of Procurement standard processes, supply markets, suppliers and products.
