Due to an internal move, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Unit Manager to join Thetford Compounding.You will report into the Associate Director of Operations and have 5 direct reports covering a unit of 200 operational people in total. The role is responsible for the delivery and achievement of cross-functional KPIs and Key Performance Indicators across Thetford (UK).

The role offers an attractive salary which will be discussed on an individual basis. You will also receive a 15% yearly MICP bonus and monthly car allowance as well as some other fantastic benefits.

What does the role involve?

  • Responsibilities for overall management for UKI employees related to delivering Product on time in full to the Baxter Homecare Services business, stock and direct to hospital.
  • Direct leadership of the operation, overseeing and developing employee performance and process improvement.
  • Accountability for supply chain, production specialists and EHS.
  • Responsible for capacity plans and forecasting, working closely with the commercial business to align with strategy for Growth.
  • Responsible for proactively leading and creating a Safety, Quality and Compliance focus throughout operations, incorporating business ethics and Baxter mission focus.
  • Proactively look for opportunities to drive continuous improvement, influence decisions and deliver the results whilst ensuring a high level of compliance.
  • Annual budget planning

What experience are we looking for?

  • Previous experience of leading an Aseptic regulated Operation and driving Quality culture.
  • Lean, Six Sigma knowledge with end-to-end systems thinking required with demonstrable examples of driving efficiencies, cost reductions, waste reduction and opportunity identification. Strong, self-driven leader with demonstrated ability to proactively drive, manage and grow an operation.
  • Strong project management, people coaching and development skills.
  • Experience driving improvement, innovating new processes, technologies and driving out waste
  • Robust Operations financial acumen and business understanding, linking performance with financial outputs and considerations.
  • Attention to detail with ability to hit deadlines and milestones.
  • High levels of diplomacy, communication and emotional intelligence awareness and understanding.
  • Change management, experience of transformational, and associated people side of change.
  • Manufacturing, production, or distribution logistics environments in a senior level role, managing large scale operations.
  • Demonstrated track record of team leadership within a large scale, fast-moving and process-driven environment: end-to-end process management experience is a must.
