Your role at Baxter:

Under the direction of the Manager, Professional Medical Services, the Senior Contract Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and implementing processes to optimize and improve contract workflows. The Senior Contract Specialist will assist with customer contract review, track negotiations, and administer executed contracts, and prepare ancillary documentation in support of Baxter’s Front Line Care - Vision Screening and Diagnostics business segment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Conduct initial review of customer redlines
  • Work closely with Baxter’s Corporate Counsel, Contracts to ensure all agreements align with Baxter’s standard terms and conditions
  • Participate in strategy calls
  • Respond to customer questions
  • Draft amendments, contract-related notices, and other documentation
  • Develop and maintain contract tracking logs in databases
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Shorten our sales cycle through compression of contract turnaround time
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on our contracting process
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in our contracting process
  • Prioritize contracting focus through communication with commercial functions and our in-house legal teams
  • Support legal, as needed, in Corporation and Business Entity state filings
  • Support and record minutes from Credentialing Committee Meetings
  • Other duties may be assigned

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of contract negotiation and contract management experience
  • Experience in the healthcare or medical device industry preferred
  • Strong analytical and communications skills
  • High degree of organization and efficiency with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of contractual concepts; regulatory and compliance background a plus
  • Ability to exercise appropriate independent judgment but know when to seek guidance and input from relevant stakeholders
  • Proactive, practical business sense
  • Ability to handle legal and administrative work in a very fast-paced environment under tight deadlines

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 - $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
