We are excited to announce an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager for External Contract Manufacturing - Pharma at Baxter.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide oversight to the manufacturing, quality, and development of products performed at ECMs dedicated to the Pharma Segment. Serve as liaison between Company and External Contract Manufacturer network.

  • Support the External Contract Manufacturing (ECM) organization in execution resulting in business sustainability, growth, and cost savings.  

  • Contribute to Procurement/ECM supplier base strategy to support the segment growth.

  • Participate in Due diligence for Business Development especially for product acquisition and licensing and distribution deals with another third-party supplier.

  • Lead the procurement activities like conducting RFI, RFP, Contract execution, etc., and report the finding to the Pharma Senior leadership team.

  • Responsible for creating cost-saving opportunities through competitive bidding, negotiations to achieve/exceed savings targets, and delivering on-time reporting.

  • Manage contracts to ensure quality, delivery, and cost to company expectations and meet budget targets, cost savings, and capacity management.

  • Partner with Manufacturing Strategy to challenge Buy-where to optimize and simplify the ECM supply chain.

  • Partner with the Commercial team and ISC functions to ensure continuity of product supply.

  • Analyze actual to budget cost variances, identify root causes, and drive cost improvement.

  • Manage issues to ensure efficient and effective resolution.  

  • Lead performance business reviews with suppliers/contracting organizations.

  • Responsible for ECM metrics for scorecard/dashboard.

  • Partner with Quality Assurance to support/perform supplier audits, quality investigations, and non-conformance analysis by providing appropriate product/process expertise.

  • Support Due Diligence evaluations of potential Business, development Target organizations.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in ECM or related roles within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and Medical Device / Biologics industry working with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality required.

  • Technical Skills appropriate to the assigned ECM Aseptic Category, including cGMP-Regulations and Regulatory Affairs, Quality Control and Assurance, and Operations.

  • Cross-functional team leadership, ability to work and influence across business units and functions, multi-site, multi-cultural. Proven ability to hold others accountable.

  • Procurement experience including contract creation, negotiation, and execution.
