Your Role at Baxter

Baxter offers a structured internship experience that provides hands-on exposure to quality engineering activities within an R&D environment. This role is designed to reflect the responsibilities of a full-time Quality Engineering position and provides opportunities to contribute to verification, validation, and continuous improvement efforts.

As a Quality Engineering (Test) Intern, you will work closely with R&D and cross-functional partners to support design verification activities, execute test strategies, and ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle.

This internship requires the candidate to be local to the Raleigh, NC office - 1501 Nowell Rd Raleigh, NC 27607.

What you'll be doing

  • Review design inputs and requirements for accuracy, completeness, clarity, and testability.
  • Develop, document, and execute component, integration, and system-level test cases.
  • Support verification and validation activities in alignment with quality and project requirements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
  • Contribute to regression testing strategies and assist in defining test coverage.
  • Identify, document, and retest defects using approved defect tracking tools.
  • Set up, maintain, and manage test environments, tools, and test data.
  • Provide effort estimates for assigned testing activities.
  • Support test automation initiatives, including scripting, tooling, or framework enhancements, based on experience.
  • Perform additional testing or quality-related tasks as required to support project objectives.

What you'll bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development practices.
  • Knowledge of manual testing methodologies and verification techniques.
  • Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript (preferred).
  • Familiarity with test automation concepts or frameworks (preferred).
  • Experience or exposure to tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar systems (preferred).
