Join our dynamic team of engineers and make a significant impact on the future of medical technology! As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the development of innovative software solutions for cutting-edge medical devices, working with C/C++, embedded control systems, and RTOS in multi-threaded environments. You will define software architecture, develop software for microprocessors, troubleshoot complex software issues, and provide guidance to other engineers.

What you'll be doing?

  • Define software architecture and requirements for new product development projects, ensuring they are innovative, adaptable, and meet the needs of our customers.

  • Develop embedded control system software in C and C++ languages for our microprocessors, with a focus on interacting with Inputs/Outputs.

  • Provide expert technical support to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on software issues reported during verification.

  • Resolve software issues by implementing changes and performing developmental testing.

  • Identify technical problems, generate innovative solutions, and share technical knowledge with your team.

  • Incorporate business, market, industry, and competitive knowledge into technical solutions that align with our company's mission and values.

  • Generate detailed, high-quality technical documentation to capture and communicate designs effectively.

  • Seek knowledge of the business, market, industry, and competitive environment to stay ahead of industry trends and ensure our products remain competitive.

  • Utilize existing tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics.

  • Challenge project teams and established work processes, finding creative methods to reach desired performance levels.

  • Proactively inform others about developments or issues that affect their work and their ability to meet commitments.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study with 5+ years of experience or Masters with 3+ years

  • Fluency in C/C++ programming Experience with software development on a Linux Yocto platform

  • Experience with embedded control systems using ARM microcontrollers and microprocessors Experience developing and integrating HAL drivers for peripherals such as CAN, I2C, SPI, USB, etc.

  • Expertise with Git and/or Jira software tools

  • Experience with connectivity using WiFi, Bluetooth preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment Ability to adapt to change

  • Ability to generate alternative solutions to problems or processes

Preferred skills, but not required:

  • Experience leading small teams of developers on a project is beneficial

  • Experience using IoT communication protocols such as MQTT data is beneficial

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $112,000 to $154,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
