In this unique opportunity as an Operational Excellence Coordinator at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, located in Old Toongabbie NSW, Australia, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Manufacturing function to achieve operational goals.

With a commitment to excellence, you will Coordinate all Continuous Improvement/OPEX activities on site including visual management, zone controls, standardized work, 6S, TPM and other Baxter Operating System (BOS) elements as required. By successfully implementing various elements of the Baxter Operating System (BOS), you will be playing a leading role in driving and supporting as required the delivery of the SSIP (Site Strategic Improvement Plan).

Key Responsibilities:

In this exciting role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving and leading OPEX improvements, including Green Belt projects, to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance efficiency.

  • Coaching and supporting manufacturing team members in root cause problem solving and other BOS activities, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Maintaining OPEX visual management across the site, including A3 problem-solving boards, to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Collaborating with all teams to facilitate Value Stream Management, using visual management techniques and tiered meetings to enhance performance and achieve desired outcomes.

  • Playing a leading role in knowledge management, documenting and safely storing key improvements and active problem-solving events for future reference and accessibility.

  • Coordinating and supporting the delivery of site VIP (Value Improvement Projects), contributing to the site's ongoing success and growth.

  • Delivering or supporting OPEX and lean cultural transformation training, empowering employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive operational excellence.

  • Playing a crucial supporting role in Baxter Toongabbie's Digital Transformation implementation, using technology to improve processes and foster innovation.

Key Requirements of the role include:

Essential:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, allowing you to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in Science or Engineering field, giving you a strong base to succeed in this position.

  • Experience in manufacturing/shop floor environments, enabling you to navigate and understand the unique challenges and opportunities within this setting.

  • Experience using CI tools, including 6-Sigma and Lean, to systematically identify and eliminate waste, ensuring optimal efficiency and quality.

  • Experience and knowledge in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining a high level of quality assurance.

  • Training/teaching experience, to share your knowledge and empower others to embrace operational excellence.
