Procure to Pay – Accounts Payable Process Associate

Date Required: September 1, 2024

Summary of Role:

The Procure to Pay (P2P) Accounts Payable Process Associate performs invoice processing, problem resolution along with daily and monthly balancing and reconciling activities.  The job role is to provide local support (Greece) in the processing and reconciliation of invoice payments.  The responsibility includes the indexing and validation of electronic images of supplier invoices utilizing the Baxter imaging workflow application (e.g., Canon/Therefore) to ensure high quality and timely payment. 

This is a local position reporting to Baxter’s Business Services in Poland. The position will provide services to Greece legal entities and stakeholders.  The position is located in Athens, Greece. 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare vouchers for processing
  • Data entry / keying into payable systems (e.g., JDE, Concur, other)
  • Validate invoice & activate workflow to obtain additional information
  • Processing of vendor debit or credit memos
  • Process expense reports and perform audits
  • Record retention, tracking and reporting for tax purposes
  • Perform data balancing activities
  • Investigate / resolve supplier invoice and payment discrepancies
  • Support resolution of inbound supplier inquiries
  • Contact suppliers to solve discrepancies
  • Perform data steward activities for requests related to Supplier onboarding and changes
  • Provides audit support specific to Baxter Business Services and Local Accounts Payable
  • Research and reconciliation of accounts payable balances and vendor statements
  • Perform all activities related to supplier and intercompany payments
  • Perform reconciliation of T&E cards, statements, and payments
  • Record retention, tracking and reporting
  • Laise with local banking partners (as required)
  • Meet or exceed internal customer service level agreements (e.g., timeliness, quality, productivity) as agreed

Critical Competencies Required

The candidate will have experience in overall management and responsibilities of procure to pay and/or accounts payable operations.  The candidate should be able to demonstrate effective time management skills as well as the competencies outlined below.

  • Functional knowledge of the Accounts Payable, Travel and Expense, and Supplier Master Data processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in reading the local business language and or interpreting other foreign languages (English) to process accounts payable invoices
  • Numerical and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Adaptable to new ideas and ways of accomplishing tasks
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Operate self-directed

Specific Experience and Education Requirements:


The successful candidate should have experience in Procure to Pay – Accounts Payable operations.  If a recent college graduate, preference would be for some additional work experience in the accounting field as intern program and/or demonstration of accounting knowledge.  Below are other requirements for the position.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of related professional experience in similar role
  • Experience in accounting and financial systems (e.g., JD Edwards, Coupa, Pega, Concur)
  • Experience in process management, documentation, and continuous improvement
  • Experience with Shared Services operations
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite
