Your role at Baxter:

You as The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing sourcing strategies related to the Metals category. Provide leadership, critical thinking and expertise for metals category to advance Baxter CCS (GBUs) mission agenda “Sustain and Save Lives”.

What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for supplier relationship management and risk assessment.
  • Develop and Implement appropriate risk mitigation plans.
  • Responsible for negotiations and contracting. Develop robust category strategies that reduce supply base, reduce dependence on single/sole sourced suppliers, deliver continuity of supply, and provide for annual cost reductions.
  • Deliver annual MIP (cost reductions) and PPV objectives at category and plant levels. Jointly, with supplier quality, address supplier quality issues timely.
  • Optimally leads long-term relationships with suppliers and internal team members.
  • High level technical curiosity. Engineering, Mechanical or other Technical training.
  • Ability to think strategically and globally.
  • Ability to handle diverse collaborator interests and expectations.
  • In-depth category knowledge of metal components along with sophisticated pricing arrangements and supplier profitability. Strong ethical background. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Strong decision maker surrounding multi-million dollar contracts and agreements and major policies.
  • Risk leadership skills required to drive innovative solutions and problem solving analysis and resolution.
  • Outstanding negotiator with knowledge of cost tools such as material breakdown, benchmarking, value analysis, value engineering, sophisticated RFQ’s and purchasing tools.
  • Strong project management skills to drive projects to closure. Knowledge of root cause analysis, problem solving, improvement, and action, product quality assurance systems and supplier performance development and evaluation.

What will you bring?

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree; MBA desirable.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ confirmed experience in metals sourcing. Preferred: Experience in a regulated and highly technical environment preferred, such as experience in the Automotive, Aerospace, OEM, and/or Medical Device industries
  • English B2+
  • Travel of 5-10% including global travel.
