The supervisor position is responsible for directing the daily activities of a maintenance team. These responsibilities as well as others could include setting priorities, assigning work, being a technical resource, personnel development and working with other departments for a specific production area / shift to ensure manufacturing goals and project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with current good manufacturing practices (GMPs), good documentation practices (GDPs) environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and any other regulations that could apply.

What you'll be doing
- Oversee and lead a maintenance team that could include mechanics and technicians to support operations in an area
- Oversee execution of assigned shutdown and / or other projects.
- Ensure compliance as it relates to PMs, maintenance documentation, training, quality, 6s, safety.
- Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the Baxter Shared Values – Respect, Responsiveness and Results.
- Support and Emphasize the Safety and Quality commitments of the department – make decisions concerning these commitments within the area.
- Provide direction of resources in the most efficient and productive manner possible.
- Identify/prioritize/provide resources on a shift to assist the superintendent to meet the annual operational plan and budgetary commitments,
- Facilitate, verify, and even conduct appropriate training for employees in the area (including but not limited to GMP, troubleshooting, maintenance skills, and safety)
- Ensure compliance with all GMP rules, specifications, SOPs, and FDA requirements as required.
- Commit to employee feedback and developmental process – support Talent Management goals, conduct recognition and disciplinary action for employees, facilitate employee representation throughout the organization.
- Submit and/or maintain and distribute reports related to attendance, labor, maintenance metrics, safety, and others as needed.
- Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
- Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
What you'll bring
- AAS degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with a minimum of 7 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated communication, administrative and strong technical leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments, and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment. Solid professional writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting.
- Good assessment and troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical) with demonstrated and proven experience and background.
- Good computer skills to include Microsoft Office including Project.
- Solid understanding of maintenance systems to include preventive maintenance and CMMS.
- Ability to understand regulatory and safety guidelines applicable to the medical / pharmaceutical industry and industry in general. Must have experience and knowledge with Lockout / Tagout and other Safety Programs.
- Interact with all levels of personnel to analyze and solve problems related to equipment but also with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and personnel issues.
- Knowledge of WCM methods (Lean, Six Sigma, and QLP).
- Ability to respond to detailed inquiries, and present information to groups and department management.
- Have good project management skills and ability to organize many projects and priorities as required.
- Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
- Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
