As the Strategic Account Manager you will be responsible for identifying and leading strategic opportunities within the Patient Support Systems (PSS) Smart Beds and Safe Patient Handling equipment business across the South of the UK.

This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with the sales manager, business development managers, and other HST functions to drive sales within the NHS to a successful close for the PSS business. You will play a crucial role in finding opportunities at an early, pre-tender stage, ensuring efficient management of all key partners, both internally and externally.

This is a field based role so there is an expectation of travel.

What you'll be doing?

  • Identify opportunities for growth – Lead partnership development in major accounts
  • Develop relationships at senior levels within NHS establishments to access strategic buying influencers
  • Lead strategic tenders in collaboration with the tender team and internal/external partners
  • Work in partnership with Marketing to ensure business goals and strategies are aligned
  • Engage with central purchasing groups and present the total value proposition of Baxter
  • Ensure close working relationships with the commercial operations team to ensure delivery of the key goals and objectives for the position.
  • Proactively report and track the regional/national performance for pre-identified accounts and NHS Frameworks, analyze and define corrective or optimization plans and communicate accordingly.
  • Collect, analyse and report the market needs for new products and services or improvements to existing offerings. Scan the market for potential partnerships, as the need arises for customer centric approach.
  • Launch new products and solutions

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in account management, with a consistent track record in sales and managing/growing large, strategic accounts
  • Experience within the UK bed and surfaces market – deep market insight would be helpful
  • Passion for improving healthcare delivery
  • Ability to work independently, but also collaborate within a team
  • Successful record of c suite engagement
  • Strategic thinker - Build complex account plans
  • Results driven, with a proactive approach to achieving goals
