Summary:
The EMEA Fulfillment Finance Manager role is responsible for supporting the EMEA Region Fulfillment teams within the Integrated Supply Chain Organization, Commercial Segment Teams as well as other partners within Baxter. Post-spin this position will support KidneyCo and the associated Regional Fulfillment team.
This role relies on strong financial expertise across Accounting, FP&A and Decision Support combined with Operations and Business acumen and extensive communication skills to successfully operate in a highly matrix environment (Executive & Senior Regional and Global stakeholders) when supporting key strategic decisions and ensuring ownership of financial process activities.
The EMEA Fulfillment team currently (pre spin off) manages annual spend of ~$320M which represents 10% of regional sales. EMEA Regional Fulfillment manages the costs and related Capital (ca. $10 -$15M) linked to moving products from Baxter plants to Replenishment and Distribution Centers which are then shipped/delivered to customer and patients. They ensure that the right product is in the right location at the right time to improve sales and control transportation and storage costs.
This role oversees spend in highly complex setup: ~120 legal entities, > 250 Mgt entities, > 25 DC/RC or MFG plants across EMEA, several different Business Models operated within Western Europe vs ECEMEA (direct distribution, semi direct, Distributor), ~ 1300 HC in the FF organization
The role supports the Global Fulfillment Finance Lead, works directly with another in-region Manager and is supported by 2 resources in the regional ISC FP&A COE
The role manages financial processes related to Fulfillment including LBE, Forecasts, Annual Operating Plan and Long-Range Financial Plans with opportunities to support special projects and ad-hoc analysis, in close collaboration with the ISC FP&A COE (owning process and system)
Critical Responsibilities:
Partner across ISC and Commercial Segments to ensure short, mid and long-term financial commitments are achieved; or proactive communication occurs when not.
Collaborate with Project teams and support modeling for cross functional / commercial Business cases; provide recommendations, challenge key assumptions for major Strategic initiatives for ISC, Implements practical, creative, and effective solutions with no established precedent.
Identify and communicate opportunities to improve both fixed and variable cost exist and influence organization to execute savings through MIP requiring a deep understanding of fulfillment cost composition.
Manage the comprehensive planning and reporting processes – Monthly Financial Outlooks, Annual Operating Plans and Quarterly Forecasts, LRP, in close collaboration with the ISC FP&A COE .
Understand and explain Baxter’s product sales/mix and how our sales impacts fulfillment spending.
Understand Baxter’s Planning and Fulfillment Operations, Commercial, Finance and Accounting organizations and optimize interaction model.
Drive and improve financial acumen for NON finance individuals.
Manage proactive weekly and/or monthly financial outlook on present performance to budget and forecast, work cross-functionally within and across the global ISC and commercial teams to identify and develop actions to recover financial misses.
Drive process improvements and simplification in cooperation with ISC FP&A COE.
Partner across Baxter’s P&F Operations, Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, Corporate Reporting, and Corporate Accounting organizations to ensure financial process requirements are achieved.
Partner in the S&OP process to achieve corporate cash flow objectives related to inventory and driving programs to manage optimal inventory levels.
