Do you want to begin your career in science but are not quite ready to study at university for 3+ years? Are you about to leave college/sixth form with a scientific A Level or equivalent and hoping to find a relevant role? Are you a university graduate looking for a step into a pharmaceutical company that offers the opportunity to progress? Here at Baxter in Thetford we have a very exciting opportunity for a Microbiologist Technician to join our team in Compounding. You will be working in a brand-new purpose-built lab as part of a team of 7. This role is Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week and we are happy for you to work either 9-5/8-4.

What will your day look like?

  • Environmental monitoring in a highly regulated production environment
  • Transferring samples into the lab to be incubated
  • Reading and recording samples
  • React to any issues
  • Transfer of samples between incubators
  • Recording results into a database
  • Media & material ordering
  • Regulatory paperwork
  • Data entry/trending
  • Growth promotion testing

What experience/qualifications are we looking for?

  • Biology/scientific A Level or equivalent
  • The desire and clear passion to begin a career within Microbiology
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Able to work well as part of a team but also has the ability to work independently
  • Strong IT skills
