Your role at Baxter:

As the Transport Specialist for Portugal, you will have full responsibility over budget for Transport and Warehouse, manage Distribution Transport operations to Customers and Patients and supervise warehouse operations in Sintra provided by our third-party logistic supplier (3PL). You will also have responsibility over the relationship with 3PL stock in Madeira.

What are your responsibilities?

• Manage contracts with suppliers, namely Transport and 3PL Warehouse in Sintra and Madeira.
• Promote and participate in MBR meetings with suppliers, escalating issues and looking for efficiencies and MIP’s.
• Update warehouse KPI’s on monthly basis as per regional standard.
• Design the transport network in Portugal.
• Local Swisslog knowledge (Warehouse Management System).
• Responsible and SME for SOP’s related to Distribution and Warehousing.
• Local JDE Knowledge for Warehouse and Distribution.
• Freight cost allocation. Responsible for submitting accruals for month end closure
• Oversee invoicing process ensuring accuracy and on time processing.
• Management of emergency orders.
• Management of Service Complaints, Nonconformances, CAPA handling/execution/effectiveness.
• Procurement of 3PL, including preparation of tenders RFP or RFQ for Distribution and Warehouse
• Act at all times in compliance with local legislation and according Baxter’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.

We are presently seeking people who have:

• Degree level qualification- preferred
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of GDP requirements.
• Knowledge of Swisslog, JDE, MS Office
• Analytical, Technological and Digitally minded.
• Courageous and collaborative.
• Ability to influence, educate and communicate in a customer / Supplier relationship. 
• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer orientation.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English
