Summary

Are you looking to take part in a Procurement transformation at the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of hospital supplies? We are looking for a results driven Procurement leader with a passion for driving value, who wants to join our company mission to save and sustain lives. 

The leader in this role will be responsible for leading our Global Supply Chain and Logistics Procurement Organization with a total spend in excess of $350M, reporting direct to the Senior Director of Indirect Procurement. This position will be responsible for leading procurement excellence and driving best value through our global supply chain, with key focus on cost, quality, and service. This role will maintain a high level of visibility to company executives while providing valuable transformation experience. Additionally, the leader in this role will continuously and proactively investigate new suppliers/technologies as inputs into our value funnel, supporting our organizational goals while helping to improve patient outcomes. 

What you'll be doing

  • Drives value by leveraging the strategic sourcing process including but not limited to RFI/RFP processes, should cost models, industry benchmarking, and scenario optimization on a global basis. 
  • Leads the supplier selection and program recommendation process ensuring recommendations are data driven and fact based, complete with market cost intelligence and an objective scorecard methodology. 
  • Leads, develops and executes category strategies in line with driving best value (cost, quality, and service) across our supply chain. 
  • Develops and executes negotiation strategies for supply agreements/contracts ensuring supplier accountability, contractual excellence, and service. 
  • Builds critical stakeholder relationships across the Supply Chain and Logistics Team, creating a rapport built on trust, respect, and value delivery. 
  • Develops a continuous improvement mindset across the team focusing on cost, quality, service – leading to improved delivery and savings value to the P&L.
  • Leads by example, demonstrating industry best practices in supplier selection and supplier relationship management to deliver best in class quality and service, at market advantaged pricing. 
  • Ability to understand and excel within a global supply chain given market dynamics, category complexity, and supply risk management. 
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement data driven KPI’s to drive supplier performance management.
  • Track record of quickly developing solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. 
  • Ability to communicate for impact, both verbally and in writing; ability to adjust communication and style depending on audience (technical vs. executive leadership).
  • A demonstrated willingness to learn, roll-up their sleeves and set an example for the team as a “leader and doer.”
  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects across the globe, driving value while challenging the status quo and holding our teams and suppliers accountable when needed. 
  • Ensure assumptions, risks and opportunities are identified, monitored, and reported on to ensure flawless execution.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor Degree required – Strong preference for Masters Degree
  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience including five years in a sourcing leadership role
  • Proven experience managing a global team within a matrixed environment
  • Ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate across the network and build credibility – Commercial, R&D, Manufacturing and Logistics
  • Experience working in a global environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Travel Required (Domestic & International) - up to 20%
