As a Sr. Manager, EMEA Global Trade and Customs you will be based in our Compton Office / Hybrid

Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. We do so through our flexible workplace policy, which includes a minimum of 3 days a week onsite. This policy provides the benefits of connecting and collaborating in person in support of our Mission.

You will support and provide oversite for all EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Global Trade activities, including import, export, duty savings, and special trade program activities. 

You will develop and implement internal controls relating to Baxter’s global trade activities in order to maintain a high standard of compliance with Customs and other government agency laws and regulations, minimize the risk of penalty and fines due to non-compliance, enhance opportunities for duty reduction, and to provide Global Trade support for all Baxter entities. 

Help define strategic planning opportunities for trade operations, maintain a dedicated, high performing Global Trade team that effectively perform compliance activities and forming relationships with facilities and/or country personnel to understand existing/future operations.

You will support & drive continuous improvement projects to ensure globally consistent best in class processes, systems, and standards.

Stay ahead of all legislative and regulatory changes. Monitor regulations affecting international trade, assess impact and communicate compliance and customs requirements to key stakeholders.

Education -University — 3 years (Bachelor's degree) - Masters preferred
Number of years of experience: 6 to 10 years
Trade Compliance, Global Trade, International Business, Supply
Field of expertise: Chain, Logistics, Import/Export

Specific competencies
■ Working knowledge of Import./Export laws and regulations, Customs formalities, FDA/MOH
requirements and global application
■ Knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and models, order management, trade financing
■ Must be able to perform gap analysis, spot issues related to non-compliance, formulate corrective action
plan, present findings to management and operations and implement agreed upon actions
■ Possess initiative and problem solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision while recognizing the need to timely update supervisor and engage internal expertise as needed
■ Travel required (approx. 10 %)
■ Must be technologically adept, experience implementing Global Trade software preferred
■ Critical thinking ability
■ Ability to balance several projects concurrently
