Overview:

Baxter is a global US listed healthcare multinational organisation and the demerger applied to the Japan entity in January 2024. This position will permanently be employed by the newly created entity, Baxter Japan KK.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing general accounting tasks and controllership projects for Japan and lead the controllership team to ensure compliance with US Gaap, Japan Gaap and various company policies. This position will report to the Associate Director, Controller in Australia and will also have strong interaction with the rest of the cluster controllers and global teams on projects, commercial activities and technical accounting consultation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting operation, reporting, compliance, taxation, treasury and various projects such as Integration of subsidiaries.
• Manage post-demerger operation by establishing operational procedures for the newly created entity.
• Perform monthly and annual closing of books in a timely and accurate manner and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the process
• Comply with all tax requirements in the country including timely filing of various tax returns and accounting for taxes. Ensure filings made on time
• Prepare Statutory Financial Statements, ensure compliance with Japan GAAP and complete
• Streamline the General Accounting organization and improve its functionally.
• Manage Accounts Payable team based in Japan (and collections team TBC) and work closely with Central Shared Services teams in Malaysia, resolving any issues
• Create & maintain positive relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
