Your Role at Baxter

As a Nutrition Sales Specialist you take pride in representing Baxter and our parenteral nutrition portfolio and hospital capital equipment relating to nutrition products. Your keen understanding of your products and belief in the value and quality they provide to patients fuels your confidence. Our customers trust you and appreciate your knowledge and curiosity when finding solutions to meet their clinical needs. You enjoy being on location, building relationships, and establishing trust with the registered dietitians, pharmacists, and other key stakeholders who use Baxter nutrition products every day.

In this position you cover the total parenteral nutrition (TPN) product line calling on Pharmacists, Dietitians, Clinicians and Specialists. You enjoy seeing the connections between these teams and how they work together clinically and strategically to drive business results. The clinical insights and business feedback you share with your team and to cross-functional partners help validate and inform priorities and changes and ultimately help drive our mission of saving and sustaining lives forward!

Territory Coverage includes Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia

What you'll be doing:

  • Achieving sales quotas through the direct sale of the company's total parenteral nutrition product portfolio by implementing sales strategies to attain sales volume, product mix and profit objectives.
  • Calling on prospective customers, mastering effective sales presentations, providing technical and clinical product information and/or demonstrations.
  • Monitoring sales against forecasts and participating in the determination of market potential for the territory and seeking territory product expansion by collaborating with internal and external customers.
  • Partnering closely with internal marketing, medical information and consultant pharmacists to support the customer experience.
  • Promoting the Baxter Culture through positive ongoing relationships and activities.
  • Develop solutions to complex clinical and operational barriers to build new and expand business within the parenteral nutrition space.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with medical professionals.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years clinical sales experience or 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Successful hospital sales experience selling to pharmacists, clinical dietitians, and key stakeholders within the institution.
  • Clinical experience as a nurse, dietitian, or pharmacist with parenteral nutrition patients is a plus
  • Successful sales experience with IV parenteral nutrition and/or pharmacy operations experience is a plus
  • At least 50% travel is required, and candidate must live within the Territory
  • Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as well as strong business acumen, negotiation skills and presentation skills

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $60,000 to $132,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for commission.
