Your Role at Baxter

 Based in Largo, FL, the Field Service Technician Calibration position oversees the calibration of electrical and mechanical equipment and completes service activities to repair a variety of medical equipment. Technicians are hands on, are organized, exhibit strong attention to detail, work autonomously, and enjoy problem solving to ensure all instruments used in product acceptance are calibrated to a known schedule using established standards and service activities are completed in a quality and timely manager. This position focuses on providing a positive customer experience (internal and external), strong communication, and ensures all calibration and services needs are met.

What you'll be doing

  • Performs repairs, calibrations, preventive maintenance (PM), and/or installations on electro-mechanical medical equipment within established KPI, quality, and procedural standards.
  • Tests and calibrates measuring and indicating instruments for conformance to established government, commercial, and specification standards and maintains calibrations schedule database and ensures timeliness of calibrations.
  • Coordinates outside calibrations with approved vendors, including request of quotes, opening requisitions, and inspections and documentation reviews.
  • Manage Calibration database records for all instruments supporting the field service operations.
  • Documents all calibration, performance, and maintenance records in the designated system(s) of record.
  • Analyzes equipment failures to determine root cause and performs corrective action.
  • Plans and orders parts necessary for service and PM and maintains proper system inventory records.
  • Maintains customer good-will through effective and timely communication of all services rendered and reports any issues.
  • Demonstrates presentation of positive attitude for the company, products, employees, and customers; and maintains proper business appearance.
  • Participates in department meetings and training events at location or offsite.
  • May travel to assist other Field Service Technician’s outside of designated territory.
  • Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOP’s, equipment, policies, and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring

  • Associate’s degree or higher in engineering, biomedical equipment technology, or computer science.
  • OR Associates degree or higher in non-related field with 3+ years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • OR Biomedical Engineering Technology (BMET) certification with 3+ years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • OR completion of a U.S. military electrical or electrical biomedical equipment technology program.
  • Previous calibration experience is preferred.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 50 pounds using lifting aids, technologies, or appropriate assistance.
  • Must be able to sit and drive extended distances as per region requirements or fly.
  • Must be able to travel including overnight stays as required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $33,000 - $76,000annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
