Purpose of the Position

This position will work with the Direct Tax and local accounting regulatory (Statutory) compliance for all the Baxter legal entities in Costa Rica.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, calculate, submit, and appeal payments for any monthly or annual direct tax obligations (income Tax and
  • any other related).
  • Coordinate, prepare, submit, and maintain the information requested to align with PROCOMER program
  • Coordinate, prepare and submit information for internal or external audits/revisions (Corporate, External Auditors, Government revisions, etc.), reports for corporate tax or consolidations teams, such as: Tax kit, Boycott, Reporting package, information for Transfer Price process (corporate and local processes)
  • schedules, etc.
  • Align with SOX activities (update controls, execute controls as defined, etc.)
  • Attend any local requirements (Statutory)
  • Primary finance contact and Liaison with External auditors, external tax advisors, Tax authorities and finance teams
  • and operational teams (mfg finance, commercial team, SC, etc).
  • Prepare and coordinate statutory Financial Statements (FS). Interim & pre-audited FS
  • Prepare, request and/or book Manual entries as defined in the finance regional model for AA & UL or other local
  • ledgers.
  • Prepare and supervise account reconciliations for UL or any other Ledger
  • Run and validate any special process to translate US books to local currency
  • Maintain local statutory files based on aging required (5-10 Yrs)
  • Promote, propose, and help with simplification or automations initiatives
  • Participate in projects for Tax or Statutory requirements (electronic invoicing, JDE local ledger in Colons, COA, Workiva, etc.)
  • Finance local A2R expenses monitoring and participate in any budget or FCST requirement in this regard
  • Coordinate and request payments for local finance services, including PO request (example: external audit, tax services, etc.)
  • Support any other activity related to local Tax or accounting statutory requirements as well as any other special

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Desirable a specialization

  • 3+ years of experience in Tax, audit, and Accounting,

  • English level: B2+ -C1

  • High proficiency in Microsoft office.

  • Desirable knowledge in software for Tax and Statutory reporting

  • Desirable experience with Tax authorities’ relationship

  • Availability to travel to the legal entities location within Costa Rica and attend to the governmental offices as needed
