What you'll be doing

• Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of databases that support Production/QA/Test/Development
• Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
• Responsible for problem escalation to platform vendor and/or product support team and third parties as appropriate.
• Responsible for co-ordination of Infrastructure issues with Infrastructure team.
• Responsible for setups of new databases on Linux and cloud database platform.
• Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
• Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the application development team.
• Responsible for performing refreshes of data from production databases into test and development databases
• Proven Oracle Database Administration experience on releases 11g, 12c, 19c
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
• Practical experience in performance tuning of databases as well as specific SQL statements
• Practical experience in analyzing infrastructure bottlenecks and infrastructure sizing.
• Knowledge of Oracle Golden gate or other real time data streaming product or tools
• Experience in Oracle RAC.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field with 10-12+ years’ experience
• AWS RDS/EC2 database provisioning and support
• Enterprise Manager Grid control setting up alerts, thresholds and monitoring.
• RMAN backups and recocery
• Oracle Goldengate configuration and support
• AWS DMS configuration and support
• Oracle Datapump, Active Dataguard, ASM
• Experience with MS-SQL or Postgres, RDS databases.
• Python,terraform, jenkins scripting to automate database build/monitoring/support activities.
• Proven Oracle Database Administration experience on releases 11g, 12c, 19c
• Additional skills required.
• Able to follow-through on tasks and projects
• Advanced problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work with internal or external auditors.
• Ability to write scripts to automate repetitive tasks and procedures.
• AWS or Azure cloud certifications related to Cloud Architecture or Database domain will be highly recommended.
• The position also requires weekend/off hour oncall support on a rotation basis and for any DB patching/P1 issues
