This is a hybrid Deerfield, IL based role with three days working from our corporate office and the remainder from your virtual office.

Your role at Baxter:

The Senior Manager, Global Data Privacy Program Operations will be an expert on privacy operations and governance, planning and setting direction for multiple concurrent privacy compliance projects across the organization. This role will work across multiple businesses or functions to ensure privacy policies, requirements, and Privacy by Designs (PbD) are implemented in a consistent and timely manner. Reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer, this role will also implement Global Privacy Office strategic priorities, proactively identifying and managing privacy risks across business processes, while driving adoption of privacy policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop, implement, and maintain global privacy policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and oversee key privacy projects across the business; Collaborate on complex strategic projects across teams in and out of the Global Privacy Office, including privacy lawyers, product/BU legal, and security teams.
  • Act as an authority on privacy management, and operational and technical implementation of privacy controls, guide key privacy initiatives and projects and track/guide privacy separation activities in the planned separation from Baxter.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop, embed, and maintain robust privacy controls, including privacy by design practices, across Vantive systems, products, offers and services.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential privacy risks.
  • Stay current on changes to privacy laws and regulations and ensure that we remain compliant.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure they are aware of and align with our organization's privacy policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and awareness programs for employees on privacy-related topics.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Privacy Officer to develop and implement strategic privacy initiatives.
  • Coordinate with business teams to develop and maintain standards, procedures, and playbooks to ensure compliance and mitigate privacy risk.

What you'll bring

  • Extensive knowledge of privacy by design, privacy frameworks and industry standards, and understanding of global privacy compliance program management
  • Ability to coordinate global privacy risk management and deployment of privacy operating models
  • Experience providing direct privacy support to business units/functions
  • Excellent writing, drafting and analytical skills
  • Ability to mentor and direct others
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues, solve problems, make independent decisions and achieve goals
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, computer science, or information security).
  • 7+ years proven experience implementing and advising on privacy compliance and governance
  • Prior experience with a global privacy organization
  • Highly preferred but not required: a) experience with a healthcare products, devices and/or services company; b) CIPP Certification c) PMP certification

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary range for this position is $136,000 - 170,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses and long term incentive.
