Your role:

The Senior Manager, Contracts provides legal support to the Global Procurement organization. Responsible for reviewing, redlining and negotiating vendor and supplier services and product agreements, logistics agreements, software and SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, consulting services agreements, software licenses, and NDAs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manages legal matters (e.g. contract negotiation and review) with limited attorney supervision
  • Prepares drafts of Baxter's standard template agreements and reviews third-party agreements; reviews all finalized agreements prior to execution
  • Assimilates input from various Baxter functions into finished product
  • Analyzes contract risks and recommends course of action to business partners
  • Supports the Procurement organization in the development of legal strategies
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and provides guidance/leadership/mentoring to lower level legal and business personnel
  • Develops templates and other tools/processes to facilitate increased business independence on routine legal matters
  • Develops and provides training to the business on various legal concerns (e.g. utilizing templates, CDA process)

What you'll bring:

  • Knowledge of US and foreign legal systems and environment
  • Excellent writing, drafting and analytical skills
  • Ability to drive projects to conclusion with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pro-actively identify and take action on legal issues.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and make use of legal resources.
  • Ability to mentor and manage others
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues, solve problems, make independent decisions and achieve goals
  • Highly organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to expand legal knowledge and skills
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification preferred, or equivalent legal experience
  • Minimum of 10 years paralegal or equivalent legal experience
  • Prior in-house experience preferred

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 to $170,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and long-term incentive.
