Your Role at Baxter

This position provides technical support of equipment to maintenance and process personnel, through training and driving continuous improvement in the injection molding, perform molding, blow molding and LSR molding production areas. This support includes providing direction to maintenance and process personnel in steps for validation of new machines and molds. Develop strategies and support initial setup and startup of equipment, processing, changeover activities, troubleshooting equipment and processes, and equipment care activities. Working with various cross-functional teams to maximize equipment efficiencies and provide ideas for continuous improvement opportunities. Must fully support operations on the production floor and communicate effectively with production team members.

What you'll be doing:

Equipment and Process Performance

  • Evaluate and lead molding equipment and process improvements to ensure Safety of personnel and equipment, Quality of products and workmanship, and reaching efficiency goals while reducing waste.
  • Use all available performance data and statistical analysis of OEE, Cavitation, Cycle Time, and Downtime reports to drive improvements in the molding departments.
  • Support maintenance and service techs to initiate/complete work orders for equipment related problems.
  • Utilize all available information and support groups to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all required documentation / communication is complete to address issues and drive appropriate resolution and capture history of issues.
  • Support maintenance and process personnel on complex troubleshooting events of equipment and processes.

  • Create training matrices for Production Technician and mechanic development.
  • Train Production Technicians and Maintenance personnel in changeovers to include that setup and startup activities are accurate for molds, machines, robots, mold protection, part handling and all other steps are correct.
  • Develop maintenance and process personnel skills to include lean maintenance practices.
  • Work with Supervisors, Production Technicians, etc. to ensure SOPs and JIBs are accurate.
  • Provide support to equipment qualification/validation.
  • Develop and approve JIBs for equipment and process work steps.
  • Lead communication and actions with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Production to ensure smooth transition from validation to production use.

What you'll bring:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 10 years related experience required.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • RJG - Master molder certification and/or ability to achieve certification is a plus.
  • Technologists’ understanding of the machines, robots and automation is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of Arburg, Sumitomo, Engel, Krauss-Maffei, Husky and Sidel machines and auxiliary equipment Wittmann, Strelco, Motan, Staubli robots and more is a plus.
  • Attend daily tier three meetings to support production and report on molding activities and improvements.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $72,000 - $99,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than that of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
