Your role at Baxter!

The Senior Manager of Medical Affairs functions as a field-based member of the Medical Affairs group and serves as the medical strategic leader on the LATAM North (LAN). Medical Science Liaisons are healthcare professionals who get along with the scientific clinical community, key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and nursing educators. They are a point of contact with clinical investigators seeking investigator-initiated research (IIR) support and with scientific authorities to find opportunities and sites for future Baxter-sponsored research. Medical Science Liaisons develop professional relationships with Surgeon KOLs in key therapeutic areas of the Advanced Surgery business. They participate in training sessions, deliver clinical/scientific presentations, and attend medical congresses and company-sponsored scientific symposia. This group will collaborate with the internal Medical Affairs teams in their therapeutic area of expertise to provide scientific information relevant to the launch of new products, support key product strategies and publications

What will you be doing?

  • Drive medical strategy in Latam North for Advanced Surgery

  • Customer-facing position as the primary scientific authority in the Surgical therapy area and function as a product guide to internal and external customers in Latam North countries.

  • Being well informed on therapeutic areas, up to date on major studies both ongoing/completed, and driven product information/clinical data.

  • Assist with special projects in the therapeutic area including medical affairs, Live tissue surgical labs, CMEs, advisory boards, KOL interactions, Nurse training, scientific reviews, Investigators meetings, etc.

  • Review materials to ensure that they meet the compliance standards of accuracy and integrity

  • Develop/implement projects and research ethically in line with strategies/assist coordination of clinical trials in association with local and global teams

  • Interact with market access and the commercial team to provide support

  • Share medical information with KOL’s about scientific and clinical guidelines, differentiating product attributes and outcomes studies

  • Represents Baxter Medical Affairs at medical congresses and conventions, staffing overseeing medical education booths

What you'll bring!

  • Medical Doctor, with 5 years of operating room surgical experience

  • Proficient in both English and Spanish

  • Preferred Medical Doctor with Surgical specialty board certification

  • Hands-on experience

  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time
