Title: Consultant IT - Telecom

Location: Bangalore

Your Role

This role is a senior level technical resource focused on the architecture, design, planning, acquisition, implementation, and daily administration of all organizational communications systems.  This position works closely in a team environment with both our Systems and Network teams to ensure the voice communications systems are highly available and meet organizational strategic plans.  Work independently making complex decisions with little oversight.

What you’ll be doing

Consultant IT, Telecom is responsible for design and architecture modeling for the Baxter Cisco Unified Communication system global carrier network.  Providing senior level guidance for operations teams for maintaining multi-region fault tolerant CUCM system.  Solution design and implementation for on-prem and cloud based Cisco VoIP systems including Cisco Unified Call Manager, Cisco Unity Voicemail, Cisco Contact Center and E911.  Support of the Cisco Unified Communications system global regions including North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.   CUCM system is integrated in with 5 Global Contact centers that leverages Genesis I/3.  

The primary purpose of this role is to architect and design fault tolerant voice services. 

  • Maintaining highly available voice network environment by identifying gaps, researching solutions and bugs, installing upgrades, ensuring best practice compliance, Health Monitoring and Network optimizations
  • Attention to detail and an ability to produce and maintain complex network schematics and generate professional documentation such as design briefs, process documents and audit reports
  • An understanding of working across multiple regions within a global organization and the challenges of working with various time zones, language, and cultural differences
  • Good knowledge of Cisco Video infrastructure and QoS
  • Lead a cross functional project team of employees and contractors on several large-scale unified communications implementation and migration projects
  • Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; proactively develop, communicate, and implement strategies or action plans for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Perform system administration, configuration and troubleshooting across the entire Telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with vendors, including writing RFP’s for new voice systems and services, schedule quarterly business reviews and manage purchasing of hardware and services. 
  • Some travel between local and regional offices required.
  • Engage and interface with other suppliers, carriers, ISPs and network 
  • Create process and follow existing process, best practices, SOPs, compliance, and training requirements.  This includes following and using Baxter's ServiceNow change control as well as manage tickets on this platform to ensure effective fault communications and awareness.
  • Support and maintain VOIP phone system including but not limited to Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Voice Mail and Cisco Video systems.
  • Troubleshoot Sev1, Sev2 and Sev3 Telecom incidents for the North America, Europe and Asia PAC regions. 
  • Monitor the Telecom team’s ticket queue and maintain internal SLAs for voice and Webex incidents.
  • Respond to ticket request, including installs moves, changes and employee phone onboarding and terminations.
  • Respond to alerts by verifying service and test hardware.  Identify, correct or escalate problems to 3rd party vendors
  • Provide technical support and basic programming for voice hardware, Web-Ex and Jabber applications.
  • Support periodic technology rollouts and maintenance tasks that may require late night and weekend work
  • Basic cabling skills, including but not limited, CAT6 cabling, power cabling, and other similar cabling skills. 
  • Assists with office moves that require voice and video conference system installation for Europe.  Some travel required.
  • Maintain documentation WebEx and telecommunications systems
  • Works independently or as a team member to plan, develop, implement, and support voice and video systems.
  • Knowledge of networking; TCP/IP, DHCP, LAN, WAN, MPLS and Cisco Switches
  • Evaluate and implement static analysis tools that identify vulnerabilities, licensing and compliance issues long before they impact production systems
  • Work closely with engineers and testers to identify, document, and prioritize solutions that exemplify continuous improvement.
  • Implement reusable, automated solutions to common engineering operations tasks.
  • Qualify the installation and operation of new and updated systems
  • Drive efficiency and standardization in the technologies, tools and techniques used by the team
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Scrum and Delivery teams to meet business goals
  • Refine the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) to eliminate non-value-added practices.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Overall experience required: 10 to 15 years Infrastructure Architecture and/or Application Architecture
  • Voice architecture experience for a large global CUCM platform
  • Demonstrate leadership and mentoring skills.  
  • Senior level leadership and senior level knowledge of the CUCM system
  • Systems management and administration experience with Cisco Call Manager and I3 Genesis Call Center background desired .
